THC Beverages

If you prefer to consume your cannabis without the mess and inhalation process of smoking, or simply want a fresh, cool beverage to sip while socializing with friends, the cannabis-infused drink market is expanding rapidly. From flavored waters, to seltzers, to coffee, tea, and more, there’s an option for everyone’s palate and tolerance levels. And, unlike edibles, which can take up to an hour before the high hits, infused beverages deliver the cannabis experience instantly, since liquids are absorbed faster than solids and are not subject to the digestive process. These drinks are infused with either THC or CBD, which have different effects on the body and mind. Depending on the formulation, THC can offer balance, focus, euphoria, and chattiness; while CBD can ease stress, reduce anxiety, and promote calmness. Many beverage products also provide a THC dose ruler on their packaging to allow consumers to easily and accurately identify how much THC is in one serving.

Several companies have taken a unique approach to THC-infused beverages, with some even offering zero-calorie, zero-sugar options. Alt, for example, offers “Beverage Enhancers,” which are small, clear vials containing 5 or 10mg of THC that can be added to your own beverage (think of them as MiO water flavor shots), while Rebel Coast’s seltzers and wine contain a set amount of THC in every can. It’s important to remember that when choosing THC-infused beverages, as with all cannabis products, the industry rule of thumb is “start low, go slow.” You can always add more if desired but starting too much at once could make you feel sick.
